What Is Truth?

Reasoned Cases For Christ

truth

I know this is a little longer than what I normally publish but this is one of the most important posts that I have ever put together. Please bear with me and read through it’s entirety.

In the Gospel of John (John 18:37-38 NIV), when Jesus is brought before Pilate (Pontius Pilate , the fifth prefect of the Roman province of Judaea, serving under Emperor Tiberius from AD 26 to 36.), Pilate asks Jesus if he was a king and Jesus responded saying “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” The ASV Bible translates the latter Greek text statement as follows “Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” It is recorded that Pilate responds…

WHAT DOES THE PASSING OF ANOTHER YEAR MEAN? THIS – THAT OUR SALVATION IS NEARER THAN WHEN WE FIRST BELIEVED

Something to pray about

WHAT DOES THE PASSING OF ANOTHER YEAR MEAN? THIS – THAT OUR SALVATION IS NEARER THAN WHEN WE FIRST BELIEVED

In the N. T. the salvation of God is presented under three tenses: past, present and future. As a work “begun” (Phil. 1:6), but not completed in a moment of time. “Who hath saved us” (2 Tim. 1:9), “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Phil. 2:12), “now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Rom. 13:11).

These verses do not refer to THREE DIFFERENT SALVATIONS, but to THREE DISTINCT PHASES and stages of salvation: salvation as an accomplished fact, as a present process, and as a future prospect. First, God saves from the PLEASURE OF SIN, causing the heart to loathe what it formerly loved. That which is displeasing to God is made bitter to the soul, and sin becomes its greatest grief and…

Positives Of Christmas When Focused On Christ

Inside Cup

I’ve heard why people do not celebrate Christmas. I understand where they are coming from. I didn’t always. But pagan roots of things, the way most parts of Christmas aren’t focused on Christ…well, it definitely opened my eyes.

But I will say I think this is a choice individuals have to make. Being sarcastic about how other Christians celebrate Christmas in a snarky tone is not going to make anyone look “better”. I’ve seen it personally.

I’ve noticed a number of believers who do not celebrate Christmas tend to struggle with “baby Jesus.” People get adamantly upset with baby Jesus. The baby is not strong. The baby cannot do anything. We don’t worship a “baby”.

I do understand the concern. Christ should be celebrated well beyond the fact He was born. Many nativity scenes show wise men worshipping baby Jesus, and from scripture, it looks like the wise men didn’t…

My Christianity and Christmas (2018)

Father…forgive us for the things we just don’t understand.

My Christianity and Christmas (2018)

 Mike Jeshurun

So I claim to be the ‘elect’ of God for whom Christ died. I know enough theology to debate any Atheist or Evolutionist and prove him wrong. But could it be that I am just a spiritually dead Christian with a lots of doctrine in my head?

I have heard this for a long time now that Christmas is Pagan and an offence to the God I claim to love and obey, but I could care less. I don’t want to be that ‘oddball’ who shuns Christmas and preaches against it. I have no desire to go forth unto Him, outside the camp (of apostate christianity) bearing His reproach like all the Elect! [Heb. 13:12,13].

“It’s not a moral issue” I reason! And where does the Bible say ‘don’t celebrate Christmas’? Ha, spoken like a genuine purebred goat, you say! Maybe you’re right!…

THE BEAUTY OF THE WOMAN WHO FEARS THE LORD

Let Christ bring out your beauty

THE BEAUTY OF THE WOMAN WHO FEARS THE LORD

“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” [Proverbs 31:30]

We long to be beautiful, don’t we?

There is nothing wrong in looking your best, but you can try in vain to make your beauty in your face, hair, and body….or you can come sit at the feet of the Author of beauty.

We all know people who are so very beautiful on the outside. However, that is where all of their beauty lies. Because their heart is ugly, mean, and empty. How does that change their outward beauty in your eyes?

There is nothing more beautiful than a girl who is in love with Jesus, and lets His beauty shine in her life. Jesus is so beautiful, and I have never seen His face. Everything that He is. Everything He…

Please Read if You had a Bad Day Yesterday

Reblogging this because we all have bad days.

Chipped Vessel

Hey y’all, if a swipe or a click brings you to my little corner of the internet, please take a few minutes to look around. Encouragement might just come your way. It’s roll call time. Who had a bad day yesterday? We are flesh and although we serve a mighty King, we have bad days. Days that beat us down before we even get out of bed. Days that feel like 48 hours packaged into 24.

Yesterday may have found you experiencing the following:

  • Death of a loved one
  • Job loss
  • A broken car
  • Domestic abuse
  • Medical news that is not good
  • A household appliance that went caput
  • A leak in your roof
  • Inclement weather
  • Anxiety attack
  • A decision between food or rent
  • Your pet died
  • You were lonely

The reasons for bad days are endless. It does not make us any less of a Christian to admit we had…

IT TAKES A RADICAL CHRISTIAN TO SAY NO TO PAGAN CHRISTMAS

IT TAKES A RADICAL CHRISTIAN TO SAY NO TO PAGAN CHRISTMAS

A.W. Pink

“For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ!” [Galatians 1:10]”

And WHO is it that celebrates “Christmas?” The whole “civilized world.” Millions who make no profession of faith in the blood of the Lamb, who “despise and reject Him,” and millions more who while claiming to be His followers yet in works deny Him, join in merrymaking under the pretense of honoring the birth of the Lord Jesus. Putting it on it’s lowest ground, we would ask, is it fitting that His friends should unite with His enemies in a worldly round of fleshly gratification? Does any true born again soul really think that He whom the world cast out is either pleased or glorified…
