Sin made me ashamed. It made me want to run. If you had told me one day I would write about it I would be afraid. But now, I know God has received glory because I chose Him over my sin.

Sexual sin is often one of the most common sins our world struggles with, and Christians are not exempt. We live in a world that is often about me, me, me, and sexual sin or sexual pleasure (of any kind) is all about pleasing the flesh.

LETTER TO A DEAR BROTHER WHO WAS BEING TORMENTED AND HARASSED BY FEARS OF HIS WITCHCRAFT PRACTICING NEIGHBOURS

Thank you once again for writing my dear Brother and sharing your fears and concerns regarding your neighbours who practice witchcraft. I want to start this letter by sharing something my wife and I were discussing a couple of weeks ago. We were watching the personal testimony of a hardcore Satanist who had now come to Christ and was gloriously saved. And he was sharing his experiences as a practicing Satanist as to how he would cast spells and curses on people and afflict them with all sorts of sicknesses and sometimes even had them killed by demons etc. (we must understand that devil does have a lot of power amongst his own for they are his slaves caught in his snare taken captive by him at his will [2Tim 2:26]

Every once in a while I receive a question about Christianity from someone who has stumbled upon my blog. If it is a sincere question, an honest inquiry, I try to answer it. Sometimes the question only serves as a lead-in so that the person who submitted the question can then demonstrate their superior knowledge and intellect and ridicule my faith and beliefs. It’s not difficult to determine what kind of inquiry I have before me. Their response to my initial response to their question usually illustrates the motive behind the question. For one who has already made up his or her mind that Jesus is not the Messiah, no amount of evidence will be convincing. But for those who are honest in asking, the evidence speaks for itself.

The idea of a Messiah comes from the Hebrew Bible.

Imagine looking up a friend by first locating his country. That would not be enough information, so you would need to ascertain his city, street, and specific street number. It would also help if you had a phone number and when he would be home.

Similarly, the Bible tells us the “ID” of the Messiah. His ethnic background, place of birth, the timeframe of his arrival and other identifying characteristics are given. These “credentials” enable us to identify the Messiah and to recognize imposters.

Robert Bowman received his M.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1981, did doctoral studies in Christian Apologetics at Westminster Theological Seminary, and earned his Ph.D in Biblical Studies at the South African Theological Seminary. From 2006 to 2008 he was the manager of Apologetics and Interfaith Evangelism for the North American Mission Board (based in Alpharetta, Georgia), an agency of the Southern Baptist Convention. Since 2008 he has been the executive director of the Institute for Religious Research, an independent, evangelical nonprofit organization (formerly located in Grand Rapids, now based in Cedar Springs, Michigan)
