Progress on Hoop

Another corner cleaned of the mint. Of course it will be an ongoing effort because every little bit left will sprout and grow. The battle will continue but I am getting there. The pictures are as followed #1 cleaned out corner..#2always good to find a friend..earth worms #3  started reclaiming the back wall..fence pulled and attached to a post ( cover will be another day project ) and #4 hot momma..yes that is 110 degrees folks.

It is an ongoing project for sure. No…that isn’t any thing to eat in the #3 photo. those are more weeds to be removed another day…provided I can move. Gardening is good for getting your heart rate up but it also works on the arms and legs. Sore! But a good sore.

Spring is just around the corner. Things are popping out every day. I found these daffodils behind the trash pile after pruning the roses.IMG_20180216_121129

Back to the Regular Program

Let me tell you, I have fallen in love with the dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs that are part of Susan Tierney Cockburn’s Garden Notes. She showcases them on Wednesday mornings on live facebook. Check out TheGARDENSPOTLIVE. New die are out and oh my they are so real looking. Takes practice but even she has a challenge or two on the show.

Last week she was demoing her tulips and they kept opening up too much. Well she eventually got hers to stay…mine haven’t just yet.

Trying Something New

Oh the things this world wide web brings into our crafting space. The other day ,somehow I got a youtube video of a  very talented person doing the  craziest thing.  She was making paper wrought iron. Well now…this looked very interesting. Could I?

After copying the design and printing it out I took off. Well first I had to cut all those tiny strips of back paper. You know…the kind used in Quilling. Only these were 1/8″ instead of 1/16″. Let me tell you …It is harder than it looks , but I will keep on until I get this worked out.

Needless to say I didn’t get the” big picture”. But what was fashioned into a card managed to cover the really rough spots.

Goodness..it does look better in person. My photo skills are lacking …maybe it is the light  or lack of it on this rain day. Any way It is fun to try new things and I will continue to give it a go. Isn’t there a saying about learning something new every day?

If you are here please comment yea or na or even just hello. That way I will know I’m not talking to my self. And do remember… This is the Lords day…REJOICE!

Doing Lent Differently-Updated! — craftandothercrazyplans

Last year, I posted in the middle of Lent about 40 Acts, where you do something generous each day for Lent instead of giving something up. Here’s the link to my original post, in case you want to know more about what I got up to last year. I’m reposting now so that you can […]

Nabeel Qureshi – Video Reflections — Reasoned Cases for Christ

I think I have watched just about every video on YouTube that Nabeel has been in. There was just something about Nabeel’s enthusiasm and love for God that captivated me, much like the utter determination and earnestness of King David’s zeal for God, to trust in Him and be in the presence of God, that […]
