Finished

Wow! My fingers are finely clean and the heat gun has cooled off. It has been a crazy  couple of weeks as I worked on ,and finished last night , the Christmas card orders. I do love my customers and would love to have a few more. A while back I posted the designs offered this year. And the results?

24                             12                                8                         8

Plus 12 general greeting cards.  All stamped, sealed and ready to deliver first thing after Thanksgiving.  I want them all to enjoy the family time before having to address all of these cards.

Now…..does any one know anything about starting an Etsy shop. This may be the best way to sell the Dingledodie cards. What are Dingledodies? “Dingledodies are friends or acquaintances who you cannot help but be uplifted, enlightened or cheered up by-those people who put the light in your life. They are the special people who never fail to put a smile on your face, because of some series of strange habits or quirks unique only to them” Erma Bombeck

I was introduced to this by MaryAnne at Scrappystickyinkymess. I have followed her for a long time on her blog and she is the reason I make Kennedy Word books for all of my grandchildrens first birthday presents. There is something about your own name that pleases everyone.

Time to think about THE dinner. I’ll be cooking. It has been a while but maybe I can pull it off. Maybe.

Until next time…Thank you for dropping in and do come back. Leave a comment so I know you were here and please follow…Wordpress likes for you to follow and so do I.

Remember…This is the Lords day…Rejoice! and Happy Thanksgiving to all of us here in the USA.

ps. The Dingledodie cards are the 3D cards made with dies by Susan’s Garden over at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Tiger Lily Dance

Do you remember the little indians dancing around Tiger Lily in the Peter Pan Movie.  Well my Tiger Lilies just pooped out. They put on buds but then when horizontal. I ended up clipping them just to keep the mowers from eating the patch.

So while they were fresh …out came the crafting bug  and  I copied them to perfection. Well maybe not perfection but they did turn out . My DnL was on her way to visit family, way up North, and with her mother having a birthday coming up and having a few health issues I just wanted to send her something to cheer her up. I hope this did it.

Back to the Regular Program

Let me tell you, I have fallen in love with the dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs that are part of Susan Tierney Cockburn’s Garden Notes. She showcases them on Wednesday mornings on live facebook. Check out TheGARDENSPOTLIVE. New die are out and oh my they are so real looking. Takes practice but even she has a challenge or two on the show.

Last week she was demoing her tulips and they kept opening up too much. Well she eventually got hers to stay…mine haven’t just yet.

Trying Something New

Oh the things this world wide web brings into our crafting space. The other day ,somehow I got a youtube video of a  very talented person doing the  craziest thing.  She was making paper wrought iron. Well now…this looked very interesting. Could I?

After copying the design and printing it out I took off. Well first I had to cut all those tiny strips of back paper. You know…the kind used in Quilling. Only these were 1/8″ instead of 1/16″. Let me tell you …It is harder than it looks , but I will keep on until I get this worked out.

Needless to say I didn’t get the” big picture”. But what was fashioned into a card managed to cover the really rough spots.

Goodness..it does look better in person. My photo skills are lacking …maybe it is the light  or lack of it on this rain day. Any way It is fun to try new things and I will continue to give it a go. Isn’t there a saying about learning something new every day?

If you are here please comment yea or na or even just hello. That way I will know I’m not talking to my self. And do remember… This is the Lords day…REJOICE!

Winter Gardening

It is so cold outside. Nine ((9)degrees this morning and while this isn’t as cold as up North it is plenty cold for the South. Here in Mississippi we just can’t function in cold and snow that turns to slick ice. I am fortunate enough not to have to travel any further than the mail box at the end of the drive or down the hill ( which I haven’t attempted yet) to check on the other generation ( my parents).

So while it is attempting to warm up a bit my gardening is indoors with paper crafting. My order fron Elizabeth Craft came in and oh goodness it was full of such fun stuff. This just doesn’t get any better. Well ….my attempt will get better but I mean the designs from Susans’s Garden. She is so precise in her rendition of all these flowers. Susan has a real love for getting it right. It has been fun.

First off…A good friend has a birthday coming up so this was made in her honor.DSCN2078

Tunnel card

My cousin sent me the direction from a magazine and of course I had to give it a go.  The Hero Arts Kit used on an earlier card was perfect for this idea. After careful consideration me,myself and I decided to send it to Little Cob. He is the grandson of our own Cobweb and accustom to the crazyness of a crafting grandma.( not that Cob is crazy but I sure fit the mold at times) The tunnel is made up of 4 circles that decrease in size and all of the little pieces were mostly fussy cut. The larger pieces are die cut which helps a lot. The report is that he enjoyed it and that blesses my heart.

the top of the circle says…Way up North there is a small village where it is Christmas all year long. or something to that effect. A few brain cell have slipped making all of this Christmas stuff. I also send Mr and Mrs. Cob a very simple card. Sending Love this Christmas was just perfect for someone so special.

Well, I don’t do this very often but the October Hero Arts Monthly Kit just called my name. DSCN2021

Treelady’s Nursery

This is it. The most delightful plant nursery to visit I’ve ever been too. It is back in the woods off of a gravel road. Quite and peaceful and you just want to sit a spell, drink a cup of herb tea and listen to the birds and the bees. Yes there are bees so beware. That is why everything looks so good.Bees pollinating the flowers and fruit treesand making that honey you will see for sale in the shop. Lots of good stuff here. Handmade soap and personal care products ,hand stitched items as well as handmade greeting cards. The plants are beautiful, well cared for and well…those of you close by need to visit. You will be glad you did.
