Hip-hip-Hooray

I did it. With the help of my friend  Pam Rigdon over at Cedar Thicket LLC., handmade soaps and personal care products, we put together an ETSY shop for Lateblooming Designs. Yea! (You can teach an old dog new tricks. )

Ya’ll know my tech skills are rather lacking but Pam came to the rescue and bingo. I know I’ve been kinda slow in  blog land but there is a new post  in the works. I do hope you are enjoying all of the wonderful repost lately because they are good and like I’ve said before…Time is short so we got to get our act together.

Please head over to   www.etsy.com/shop/latebloomingdesigns and give me a “heart” Now if only I could remember how to do the heart thing..lol on this post.

New followers…thanks for checking in and please have patience with me. I really do enjoy you being here and I promise I will do better with the posting thing.

Happy Valentine Day ….which is almost over but hey…Love every body every day!

Visit Treeladys Nursery

If you haven’t been you should. Not only will you see beautiful plants but you can get information and advice on all things for your yard and garden.

Now I know those of you from a distance will probably not venture over here but those in the area should. The nursery is a very calming place just to visit and Miss Treelady herself is always so glad for a visit.

You can also shop the gifts and pick up wonderful handmade soap and of course that is where you will find Lateblooming Design handmade paper crafted gardens. Some of these are there.

Plus more. It is always best to support local businesses and local artist. We depend on it.

Need directions? Leave a comment and I will get back to you asap.

Trying Something New

Oh the things this world wide web brings into our crafting space. The other day ,somehow I got a youtube video of a  very talented person doing the  craziest thing.  She was making paper wrought iron. Well now…this looked very interesting. Could I?

After copying the design and printing it out I took off. Well first I had to cut all those tiny strips of back paper. You know…the kind used in Quilling. Only these were 1/8″ instead of 1/16″. Let me tell you …It is harder than it looks , but I will keep on until I get this worked out.

Needless to say I didn’t get the” big picture”. But what was fashioned into a card managed to cover the really rough spots.

Goodness..it does look better in person. My photo skills are lacking …maybe it is the light  or lack of it on this rain day. Any way It is fun to try new things and I will continue to give it a go. Isn’t there a saying about learning something new every day?

If you are here please comment yea or na or even just hello. That way I will know I’m not talking to my self. And do remember… This is the Lords day…REJOICE!

Winter Gardening

It is so cold outside. Nine ((9)degrees this morning and while this isn’t as cold as up North it is plenty cold for the South. Here in Mississippi we just can’t function in cold and snow that turns to slick ice. I am fortunate enough not to have to travel any further than the mail box at the end of the drive or down the hill ( which I haven’t attempted yet) to check on the other generation ( my parents).

So while it is attempting to warm up a bit my gardening is indoors with paper crafting. My order fron Elizabeth Craft came in and oh goodness it was full of such fun stuff. This just doesn’t get any better. Well ….my attempt will get better but I mean the designs from Susans’s Garden. She is so precise in her rendition of all these flowers. Susan has a real love for getting it right. It has been fun.

First off…A good friend has a birthday coming up so this was made in her honor.DSCN2078

CAS

CAS in the crafting world is’ copy and share’ or’ clean and simple’. Mine is the first. In one of my orders came this flyer from Echo Park Paper Co. Looked like a good design to CAS so I did on a card for the good neighbor who gave me the figs. The card is on the left. lol

Back to Watercolor

Some of my blogging friends are doing so darn well with this watercolor challenge it is kinda discouraging for me who hasn’t done much of this in so very long. Goodness…I haven’t even dared go to the link and see what the world is doing. So I just stay kinda safe and stick to my cards. There has been a jump out every day or so but …..at my age I’m just not very adventuresome. But I will share a couple of cards. I’m still trying to get to the point where I can ‘open’ a shop and sell I just have so many questions. Any way…my mother has abirthday coming up . She will be 94 if I dare say. Never have understood why women are so sensitive about their age. The alternitive is to not have an age for peats sake. This should count as watercolor I think.DSCN1886Well they are backwards but so goes it.
