Just Do It!

Not sure why I have so much trouble posting on my blog. Things just pop up and get in the way ,way to ease. Like today. I had finely made up my mind to just do it and walking to the spot to do it there was an orange. Yes, the fruit orange. Well after eating it I was on my way again and the phone rang. That’s how things happen around here. Now I know what you are thinking..just do it. It is just not that easy for me. Maybe it because things have changed. I started this adventure for one reason and that reason has changed.

I thought I wanted to take part in “card challenges” That is where someone , a person, group or company, post a design challenge. After getting all excited and pulling out an unheard of list of supplies and then getting it all on a card base you post a picture. Well it wasn’t that easy for me. I did do this a few times but then I realized there were about a thousand other crafters doing the same thing and I don’t like crowds. Next I thought about doing what they, the crafters, call a tutorial. (That is just a fancy word for lesson.)but my typing isn’t the best and it requires a lot of photo’s which means you need a better idea of how to do this blogging thing. Anyway ….that is my excuse. So how did I end up in the garden?

Oh yes…the garden ,or what was once my flower garden. With the horrible heat, working past 9 or 9:30am is out of the question, but there is slow progress. It is hard to tell but mulch is down , in one corner and the stone turtle is out of the tangel of weeds. .  This has been extended but no photos.

In the mean time there has been crafting time. Two orders have gone out and a bunch of birthday cards ready to mail.

Thank you for this short visit. Do come again and please leave a “hi/hello so I know you were here. We bloggers like to know we aren’t talking to the walls. hehe..lol

And remember…This is the Lords Day….Rejoice and be glad.

Tiger Lily Dance

Do you remember the little indians dancing around Tiger Lily in the Peter Pan Movie.  Well my Tiger Lilies just pooped out. They put on buds but then when horizontal. I ended up clipping them just to keep the mowers from eating the patch.

So while they were fresh …out came the crafting bug  and  I copied them to perfection. Well maybe not perfection but they did turn out . My DnL was on her way to visit family, way up North, and with her mother having a birthday coming up and having a few health issues I just wanted to send her something to cheer her up. I hope this did it.

Catch Up and A Miss

I don’t know where time goes or what happens to my time but blog time seems to escape routine. It’s not that I have terribily important things to do even though staying busy does help my situation. Busy busy is mostly what goes on here and not much accomplishment. As you can tell from these photos I am behind in sharing my garden….such as it is. We will start with Easter….yep…that far back. My #1 son and DnL gave me this beautiful Gerbera. Not usually being successful with plants like this I have  been really pleased. Already deadheaded three blooms and more keep coming. YeaIMG_20180520_095042

And then there was Mothers Day. My boys are pretty good at calling or even giving me a pretty card but not usually flowers so it was a wonderful surprise when this showed up on my front porch. Son #2 sent them ( this was the bigest surprise). The little bird nest  didn’t look weather proof so after removing it this petunia now hangs on the back porch so I can keep it watered ( I’m bad about letting plants go dry )and enjoy from the kitchen and breakfast room.

Now to the garden…not much but pretty .. The Mothers Day rose ( wild pink ) always blooms for the occasion and the red three Sisters rose is not far behind. The day lilies have just about dissapeared but there were a few.

Easter Lily came in late to the Spring party and then this morning a Cala Lily showed up.

Isn’t Nature wonderful to behold? The roses are struggling  but a few are picture worthy.

After the crazy Winter/Spring mix we have had the fruit trees are still in question. Only one fig has any sign of fruit, the blueberries have never out done themselves and won’t again this year and the Pom?…..well…..again it is beautiful but has never set fruit.

After a short break I will take you on a birthday party extravagancea.  Three for one.

Until then…remember…This is the Lords day….Rejoice and be Glad.

Would enjoy hearing from you….please let me know you were here.

Winter Gardening

It is so cold outside. Nine ((9)degrees this morning and while this isn’t as cold as up North it is plenty cold for the South. Here in Mississippi we just can’t function in cold and snow that turns to slick ice. I am fortunate enough not to have to travel any further than the mail box at the end of the drive or down the hill ( which I haven’t attempted yet) to check on the other generation ( my parents).

So while it is attempting to warm up a bit my gardening is indoors with paper crafting. My order fron Elizabeth Craft came in and oh goodness it was full of such fun stuff. This just doesn’t get any better. Well ….my attempt will get better but I mean the designs from Susans’s Garden. She is so precise in her rendition of all these flowers. Susan has a real love for getting it right. It has been fun.

First off…A good friend has a birthday coming up so this was made in her honor.DSCN2078

Treelady’s Nursery

This is it. The most delightful plant nursery to visit I’ve ever been too. It is back in the woods off of a gravel road. Quite and peaceful and you just want to sit a spell, drink a cup of herb tea and listen to the birds and the bees. Yes there are bees so beware. That is why everything looks so good.Bees pollinating the flowers and fruit treesand making that honey you will see for sale in the shop. Lots of good stuff here. Handmade soap and personal care products ,hand stitched items as well as handmade greeting cards. The plants are beautiful, well cared for and well…those of you close by need to visit. You will be glad you did.

Wild Country Living

Now this isn’t what you would think about wild living. There are some around here that have “wild”parties but this is Nature in it’s wildest form.

Here I the sunny South we don’t get the fire red and orange and yellow leaves of the North, but we do have grand wild flowers we can count to show up regardless of the weather.Wet or dry…they show up…not in a planned garden but on the road sides where very one who takes time to enjoy natures beauty can relax and just see the beauty in a weed.
