Tunnel card

My cousin sent me the direction from a magazine and of course I had to give it a go.  The Hero Arts Kit used on an earlier card was perfect for this idea. After careful consideration me,myself and I decided to send it to Little Cob. He is the grandson of our own Cobweb and accustom to the crazyness of a crafting grandma.( not that Cob is crazy but I sure fit the mold at times) The tunnel is made up of 4 circles that decrease in size and all of the little pieces were mostly fussy cut. The larger pieces are die cut which helps a lot. The report is that he enjoyed it and that blesses my heart.

the top of the circle says…Way up North there is a small village where it is Christmas all year long. or something to that effect. A few brain cell have slipped making all of this Christmas stuff. I also send Mr and Mrs. Cob a very simple card. Sending Love this Christmas was just perfect for someone so special.

My Sister the Artist

A whilw back my grandson came through and ask..”Bebe..What is that?” He was looking up..on top of the hall book case and saw this.

DSCN1937You may be wondering too. This is a piece my sister did while in art school at Mississippi Southern.(Univ.Southern Mississippi  today) She called it “a habitat for small animals”. You know how animls find what they need to establish a safe home for themselves and their young. Here is a closer look.DSCN1939.JPG

Can’t you just see a momma rabbit and her young finding this a safe place? Becky was the real artist in our family. She was studying art education and because of her health challenges was in need of open heart surgery before going into practice teaching. The doctors in Houston, while world renowned, were not able to give her her wish. She was only 23 years old when she left us and it left a hole on our family. These holes get patched but never filled. Today she would have been 70 years old…Is hard to imagine. Here are a couple more of her works.DSCN1949DSCN1944

Long time no see.

Yes, it has been way to long. Life just gets in the way or maybe I am just terribly slow . any way…there is color challenge over at the Daily Marker by Kathy Racoosin and I have been trying to keep up. Well…maybe not running a race here but here are my coloring attempts.

Now that's a butterfly

Now that’s a butterfly

I really enjoy learning from all of these really good “stampers” . It is very time consuming to watch all of the video’s but goodness I don’t want to miss anything. I do have to use what I have and that means simple supplies at my work station. No Copic (yet) but I do have  a couple of Chameleon ColorTones sets and left over SU Blendabilities and  a watercolor set that my grands use. Of course the usual SU markers too. There are probably some left over watercolor pants from way back but they will be in the bottom of the craft closet and I haven’t looked lately. Both my younger sister and I were art majors in collage but like I said that was a long time ago.

Now not to make this any longer than necessary would you like to see a few things made for the grands? OK  here we go…..

Up,up and away

Up,up and away

He loves the UP movie and came in one day and said ” Bebe, I need an adventure book” so what else but an adventure book had to be made. Now he can fill it with all his dreams and discoveries.

That’s it for today. Who knows maybe tomorrow will bring more of what I have been up to.

Let me remind you that …   This is the day that the Lord made…Let us rejoice

Until next time do have a good day

Still learning?????

This blog has been on going for awhile, just hasn’t gotten of the ground.  Why is my text repeating it’s self over and over? So lets try this again…..

Like I’ve said before life keeps getting in the way of progress here. I get started then bam…something calls me away. Like…before Thanksgiving when my DH had a heart issue and had to have two stents put in. Then he had to have extensive oral surgery to get ready for  heart surgery that the Dr.s have now decided is to dangerous. Which is fine since we weren’t really looking forward to that.  Meds and life change is working out pretty well. Still some problems but hopefully the future will take care of that.

Our new granddaughter was born on Dec, 6. Just as pretty as her other sisters and her brother. Yes 4 under 4.  Busy family but fun fun fun.

Several weeks ago, or maybe a month or so , time flies, our herd bull passed away. This is Tank…

New man on the ground at Journey End Farm. The girls are happy, he is happy with all the girls and we are looking forward to his babies coming someday. Our grandson announced he wants a bull but he want him to have horns and be either green or yellow. Lol.   No horns thank you.

First try

Learning something new. I have been very interested in Chameleon Blends pens. They are kinda pricey but so are the other options. There is a learning curve but so far I kinda like them and we will see if I order more. Being refillable is a plus. This card is my first attempt. Simple. The next picture is the inside which has a book mark. Sorry the sentiment doesn’t show .

Valentine candy box

Valentine candy box

This box is what I gave my son’s and DnL’s for Valentines. Good ole chocolate inside of course. Having recently discovered Lia Griffith I am learning how to make her beautiful paper flowers. Hers are so pretty and so real looking. the rose is my first attempt but I will make more. You can find her at Liagriffith.com .  All of her paper crafting is so nice. Not just paper but of course I am drawn to the paper.

Thank you

Thank you

We have a sweet friend who has been under the weather, which is no place to be, and since Teal is her favorite color …well…this designer paper just cried out to me for her.  She is better and I do hope she has a need for Thank You cards. Don’t we all at times?

Of course cards requires a gift box and yes the best things in life aren’t things at all.

Please let me know if you stumble upon this blog.   Any one interested in my fun thing can get in touch and let me know. I would love to introduce you to paper crafting , or farm life as we know it.  Until next time…Remember…This is the day the Lord made…Rejoice! (even if it is too cold to be happy about much except Spring which is just around the corner)

Where has time gone?

Oh, goodness I don’t have any idea where it has gone. It has been a while since I have posted ,but goodness how do bloggers do what they do. Surely others have email to go through, snail mail, laundry, meals to fix, gardening, grandma things and all sorts of time eating daily activities. How do they do all this and blog too??
Now,since we left off,way back in July…that is July .. the garden has hit bottom and after moving and removing I have a new crafting space. My 4 year old GS has started 4 year pre-school and and I have opened an Etsy store for my handmade cards etc. Please check it out, leave a “like” and “follow” so more traffic will come my way.
Lets see if I can find something to show you.

Yes! This was made for my sweet GD and her 1st birthday. The butterflies are die cut from cardstock and hung on fishing line.(Of course all cardstock is from Stampin’Up!).
It hasn’t been put up yet, not sure why, but it will flutter in the breeze of the window air conditioner when they do.
The common day lilies were really pretty this year.
DSCN1172

And when picked late evening they are especialy pretty. TDSCN1175he picture isn’t the best but trust me, a bowl or basket full is no longer common.

Well. I will get back in the grove soon, but until then check out the Etsy store at http://www.etsy.com/shop/LatebloomingDesigns. you might also want to go to the Stampin’Up! page at http://lateblooming.stampinup.net and see all the new stuff and check out the specials . More than I can list. Need help? Just ask.
Until later…Remember..This is the day the Lord made…Rejoice!

It not all Cards

Here at Journey End Farm it’s not all cards and stamps and ink and glue and tape. Nope there are flowers for real.Image

The picture turned out really bright but the common day lilies are bright and so pretty even it they are gone by morning.

I read a nice story ,years ago, in the old Victoria magazine about a lady who raised day lilies. Every evening she would go out

and”pick flower” . She would fill baskets and vases’ and buckets and bowls with every color in the rainbow from her garden . Can’t you just imagine the beauty. Next morning she would just dump them in the compost pile and wait for the evening again. Beautiful way to enjoy Gods creation.

Here is a picture of one of my gifts to Anna Marie on her first birthday.

Any one interested in learning how to do this can get in touch with me. We will learn together. I have collected a lot of information over the years and if I can’t answer your questions I know where to find someone who can.

There is more but for now…Remember this is the day the Lord has made….Rejoice

Wow what a weekend!

To start off we have had much needed rain. Not the gutter wash kind ,but a good slow rain that will make the new garden just take off. I’ll get pictures later to show the growing progress.
Then, our number 2 Granddaughter had her number one birthday party. She won’t be one until June 6 but we do these things when Daddy is home of course. We also found out she has news…she is going to be a big sister,in December. My goodness this little family is growing by leaps and bounds. Girl number 3 is well on her way.
Next, but really a few hours earlier, we had a new heifer calf born. We will name her AM in honer of GD Number 2’s birthday.
Now to get back to work and get more pictures of the next card challenge and a couple of other birthday cards ready to post.
Until then remember.. This is the Lords day…Rejoice!

It’s done, well almost.

The garden that is. We have been trying to get the garden planted for ever… either too wet so too much else going on, but now the tomatoes, cream peas, okra, kale, purple ” green ” beans are finally in the ground. Still need to get some cuks planted and we only planted two yellow squash plants. Some times they just produce way more than I can cook up or put up. There are four bell pepper plants but no banana peppers. The freezer is full of banana peppers.
The carrots from the fall garden are still producing and we replanted the beets. Are they good or what? Now the health news is full of information on the greatness of beets.
Gabriel loves to pull carrots. Now if only he will learn to eat them. They are so sweet and tender and so good for us.
When every thing gets really going I will snap a picture so ya’ll can see the progress. Now this only counts if they really get going. the last two years have been real duds. With food prices going up every week and going to get even higher things really NEED to get going.

Memorial Weekend is a time to be thankful for all of those who have fought for the freedom we have very little of today. Please remember them while BBQ and water sports are the fair of the weekend. Also think about joining OWH ( Operation Write Home) and send a card to” Any Hero” or get in touch with me and come make cards for those who are still fighting for our freedoms. It’s a feel good kinda thing.

Until later… this is the Lords day…Rejoice!
