Change Please !

The last couple of week have had one challenge after another.I know these thing make us stronger but also have to wonder if is only if they don’t kill us first. Let me explain….Taking care of my 95 year old parents is a feat only for the strong and I sometimes wonder where I fit in.They don’t live with me but are just down the road so I am on 24/7 call. I’m there daily to take in the mail, empty potty seats, trash cans and general clean up from what ever hits the floor. It isn’t hard work just emotionally draining.  In the last two weeks both have fallen. First it was my Dad. Sometimes he manages to get back up himself but sometimes we have to call the EMT’s for help. He gets very upset when he can’t manage on his own and can get kinda ugly.

Then …the very next day Gardian,he security company, call because Mother had pushed the button and wasn’t answering the phone. She had fallen in the bathroom and hit her head so we spent the afternoon in the ER making sure she didn’t have any fractures. Thankfully she didn’t but we won’t be taking any pictures for their anniversary coming up. There was big goose egg on her forehead and  eventually her face was black and blue which then turned yellow. Not picture taking flattery. They will have been  married 74 years on May 1.

Next… …we got disapointing news on the newest granddaughter. This will be an on going thing and prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Then…with my Dad’s situation we have had to do some things he doesn’t like or understand .Sometimes things go smooth, sometime not. This was one of the nots. I had to call in help and hopefully he will get over it and calm down. If not..well there just aren’t many options. Prayers needed here too.

We did win ball games during all of this. I missed one of the girls softball games but I’m not out there playing so probably didn’t make much difference.

In the mean time the garden is growing.  Outside and in the craft room.

The Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century left us with a vital repository of recovered truth, not the least of which are the Five Solas. From the Latin word sola, meaning “alone,” these foundational principles held by Protestants form a framework for sound doctrine and practice in the Christian life. In contrast to Roman Catholicism, Christianity teaches the following truths, as summarized by the Five Solas:

  1. Sola Gratia: Salvation is by grace alone (not by merit)
  2. Sola Fide: Salvation is through faith alone (not including works)
  3. Solus Christus:…

Girls Soft Ball

Way to go girls. With four cousins on the same team being coached by their father &uncle’s and mother/ aunt look out. They are on a roll and of course a card was in the making to get the season going . Not going to win any prizes with this one but hope they know I’m proud of them and will be there to cheer them around those bases.

They really are good sports and I’ll get a picture of GT’s baseball game later this week.

Time really doesn’t stand still. Hard to believe this sweet Kelly girl is already 2. Birthdays are a big deal when there is a big brother, three big sisters and one little sister. My oh my what a fun time. Of course this Bebe has to get creative. I just want them to know I love them enough to give it a go with something that you can’t get anywhere else except out of Bebe’s craft room.  The pop-up- card is made with Mini Mouse stickers as well as the tunnel book. Catch that smile….worth more than anything in my book.

I know all grandmothers think their grands are special but MINE REALLY ARE!

Well…it was until things cooled off again. Frost last night doesn’t seem to have hurt any thing. Garden photos coming up…Wisteria before and after the rain.

The English dogwood begining to bloom and now.

And verious “wild flowers before the lawn was cut. (spider wart & violets)

Now the bed is a jungle of soon to be Lousiana Iris, Day LIlies and Crocosmia. The turtle isn’t real.

Yes…You can see the probably dead lemon tree inside the hoophouse. Oh well! Out front I have started working on the bed. Mulch on one end. Roses are blooming on the South wall and one lonely purple iris.

Now if the temps will catch uo and not jump into summer before we continue to enjoy Spring.

Next up…Softball and baseball. Oh the joys of grandchildren.

Say “Hi” as you pass by . I love hearing your responce to my madness…and Remember…this is the Lords day…Rejoice!

Every Christian is a theologian; you are either a good one or a bad one!

Being a good theologian is not just about knowing what the Bible teaches. Good theologians also allow their theology to shape their relationship with God and their character.

And like anything else, theology has its dangers. When I was earning my Biblical Studies degree in college, there were three particular dangers that I struggled with. Thankfully, I also discovered ways to fight against them!

This is a WordPress repost of an excellent article originally posted by Amy Wang that is a lengthy and relatively extensive investigation into the evidence for the Bible’s reliability. Be sure to bookmark it for future reference!

To believe the claims of Christianity simply because “the Bible tells me so,” begs the question, i.e., it assumes what we are trying to prove. What if instead of blindly believing the Bible, we checked the Bible against external historical, scientific, and geographical evidence? This is exactly what astronomer Hugh Ross did and he found to his surprise that the Bible contains many verifiable references, in contrast to the world’s other religious books. He then committed at least an hour a day to check the accuracy of these references. After 18 months, he believed the Bible was supernaturally inspired (Ross, Creator and the Cosmos, 17-21).

Hugh Ross is not alone. Many skeptics or…

Blessing for Easter

How did things get so mixed up about Easter? Some of us are having our celebrations this weekend and there are some not doing it until next weekend.   Since it relates to Passover which I think starts tonight shouldn’t that be the given time. After all….it was at Passover everything we as Christians keep in our heart to remember the grace of our Lord.,

Eggs don’t roll here like they did when the kids were little. There will be church services, family meals and of course the Bunny will leave more candy. Good excuse to grab a chocolate egg which none of us need. I did come up with several card designs for family members and one for a dear friend having health problems but don’t think I made a picture of that one. Let’s see…now where are those photos?

Don’t laugh…it did take me a few minutes to find them. Most will be hand delivered . As much fun as I am having doing these flowers by Susan’s Garden they are crazy to mail.  I have another batch ready to go to Treelady.  Anyone in Central Mississippi really should visit her and see all of the beautiful plants. It is a very relaxing place to visit and you can grab a hand-made paper crafted flower too.

Until next time….Have a blessed Easter Weekend…Remember it isn’t about the Bunny and sing praises for it is the Lords day. REJOICE for He Lives!
